Pholoshong Home Based Care was established in October 2001 in the rural area of Ga-Mphahlele in the Limpopo Province. The organization was officially registered with the Department of Social Development as a Non-Profit Organisation in October 2003. Pholoshong was started in response to the high rate of youth unemployment, HIV infections, teenage pregnancy, crime and high number of the sickly people in the rural villages. The high number of youth who drop out of school due to poverty, end up using drugs, leading to rampant crime including housebreaking, armed robberies, and rape.
Pholoshong HBC provides care and support to the sick, women, Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs). We also strive to create jobs creation for unemployed youth through various skills development interventions including to reduce the spread of HIV and AIDS.
Pholoshong HBC is a service provider on community health issues, Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYC) especially with regard to poverty alleviat
